ORLANDO, Fla. -- Viewer e-mails continue to pour into Local 6 from concerned Dodge truck owners days after a report showed dashboards inside some of the vehicles mysteriously cracking and even collapsing.
The report featured Angie Richardson, who is one of many Central Florida Dodge vehicle owners who noticed Monday's Problem Solver investigation and contacted Local 6.
"Dodge told me to go down to one of the dealerships and have a diagnostic done on my truck," Richardson said. "The estimate for a regular minimum diagnostic is $100. That to tell me my dashboard is caved in? I don't think so."
Richardson met another Dodge vehicle owner, Mark Sabisch, whose dashboard has completely collapsed.
Sabisch said his damage is a safety issue.
"A piece fell through yesterday and landed on my gas pedal and almost made me wreck, made the gas pedal stick because it got caught behind it," Sabisch said.
Earlier in the investigation, Dodge said the company would "review its records to identify customer inquiries on this issue."
"But, just so you know, I have attempted to contact Dodge again, as our investigation widened," Local 6's Steven Cooper said.
Cooper's e-mail read: "The e-mails and phone calls are pouring in from consumers who believe they are suffering with the same 'defect.' Certainly this problem is not anecdotal; I leave it up to Dodge to come forward and explain what the issue is, that is not for me to determine, but it does appear that there is an issue."
Cooper said he is waiting for a response to the e-mail.
