ORLANDO, Fla. -- Surveillance video from Orlando International Airport released Friday shows former astronaut Lisa Nowak apparently following her romantic rival before she attacked and attempted to kidnap the woman, according to police.
Local 6 showed video of a woman police said is Nowak in disguise walking behind U.S. Air Force Capt. Colleen Shipman through the Orlando airport in February.
Police said Shipman can be seen walking with a backpack near Terminal B.
"Not far behind is, allegedly, Lisa Nowak, who police say is wearing a disguise," Local 6's Chris Trenkmann reported. "She had a hat on, a jacket and was carrying a duffel bag."
Investigators said Nowak followed Shipman to her car, doused her with pepper spray and tried to get into her vehicle.
Nowak is charged with attempted kidnapping and burglary with assault.
Nowak faces life in prison if she is convicted of charges stemming from the alleged attack.
Earlier, court documents revealed that Nowak and Shipman were both romantically linked to fellow astronaut William Oefelein.
The highly publicized case took on a twist when it was revealed that Nowak wore adult-sized diapers as she drove from Houston to Orlando in order to minimize stopping before meeting Shipman.
Nowak was released on bail, pleaded not guilty to the charges and has been ordered to stay away from Shipman.
Nowak is the first astronaut to be charged with these kinds of crimes.
Nowak is presently in Texas and was recently reassigned to a different military training-related job.
Her trial is scheduled for September.
