Police: Driver Shot After Honking At Light

POSTED: Sunday, June 3, 2007
UPDATED: 9:52 am EDT June 4, 2007

Orlando police are investigating a possible road rage shooting that was apparently sparked when a driver honked at a car at a green light, according to investigators.

Investigators said the victim was stopped at an intersection located at Orange Center Boulevard and Tampa Avenue.

The driver honked at a green Crown Victoria in front of him and that is when a man in his 20s jumped out and opened fire, police said.

The victim was hit at least once in the abdomen, according to the report.

He was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center in stable condition.

Police were searching for the driver and car late Sunday.

Anyone with information concerning the crime is urged to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
