Paris Hilton Wax Statue Gets Prison Stripes
A wax-museum representative said the Hilton figure will remain in the prison garb until she finishes her time behind bars at Los Angeles' Lynwood Correctional Facility."Madame Tussaud's is all about current events, what's happening in the world of celebrity, whether they are walking the red carpet or walking into jail," said Stacey Shuster, director of marketing and sales at the museum. "We decided to have a little fun with it and put her in a jail suit and see how it went. They are laughing and having a little bit of fun with it. Sorry Paris -- at your expense. We understand that but, it was a cute shot and she does look good in stripes."Visitors at the famed museum seemed surprised and amused by Hilton's new outfit."I think it is hilarious, actually," said Allison Millsaps, of North Carolina. "Me and my parents were dying laughing. I think it is a little sad for Paris. It is a hard week for her. Maybe it will give her a chuckle if she sees it."The 26-year-old hotel heiress checked into the suburban Los Angeles jail late Sunday to serve 23 days for violating probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
