Attorney: Nowak Didn't Wear Diapers

ORLANDO, Fla. -- An attorney for a former astronaut charged with trying to kidnap the girlfriend of a space shuttle pilot wants to set the record straight: Lisa Nowak didn't wear diapers during her 950-mile trip from Houston to Orlando to confront her romantic rival. Donald Lykkebak called it an "absolute fabrication" after filing motions to suppress evidence in Nowak's criminal case. The diapers information is written in the police report. Nowak was dismissed from the astronaut corps a month after her arrest in February. Nowak was charged with attempted kidnapping, burglary with assault and battery during a confrontation at Orlando International Airport with Colleen Shipman. She's the girlfriend of former astronaut William Oefelein. Oefelein told detectives he had a two-year relationship with Nowak but ended it some time after he started a relationship with Shipman. Oefelein was dismissed from the astronaut corps at the beginning of the month. Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
