Webcam Video Shows Burglars In Act

One Suspects Arrested

POSTED: Tuesday, July 3, 2007

Police are asking for help in finding a suspect in a burglary that was caught on camera at a southeast Portland home.

Police said a Web camera captured a portion of the burglary at the home May 16.

David Shaffer, 46, who lives at the home, gave the Webcam video to police, and officers said they were able to identify the suspects as Douglas Powell, 40, and Timmy Belding, 35.

Shaffer called 911 to report the burglary as soon as he returned home, according to police.

Belding has since been arrested and is being held at the Multnomah County Jail. Powell, however, is still wanted by police.
