Hearing For State Rep's Sex Charge Set
Allen Accused Of Offering $20 To Perform Act On Detective
State Rep. Bob Allen will get his first day in court Aug. 23 to answer charges he offered to pay an undercover officer for oral sex, Local 6 News partner Florida Today reported.
Allen, 48, was arrested at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and charged with second-degree misdemeanor solicitation for prostitution after an encounter with a Titusville detective in a public restroom at Veterans Memorial Park. Allen is out on a $500 bond.
An arrest report said Allen offered to pay $20 to perform oral sex on a detective.
The Merritt Island Republican has said the incident was a mistake and that the report was an inaccurate description of the events.
Allen also said he planned to mount a "vigorous defense" to prove his innocence.
