Theme Park Worker, Homeland Security Officer Taken Into Custody
Some of the men carried sex toys and other instruments to "ravish" children, authorities said.More than 20 men were taken into custody during the sex sting over the weekend dubbed Operation Guardian conducted at a home in Central Florida."They come here with instruments or toys," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. "And they come here to ravish children. And quite frankly, we are working at the federal, state and local level to keep that from happening.Officers initially trolled a chat room, then set up a house in Polk County rigged with hidden cameras and microphones. The men arrived, thinking they were going to meet with children but were instead taken into custody. Those taken into custody include a volunteer Osceola County firefighter David Ronan, a Universal Studios theme park worker who rents out strollers to families, and Nathan Galbraith, who is youth hockey coach from Orlando. Also, a former sheriff's deputy and current Homeland security employee at Orlando International Airport, Joseph Cioffi, was arrested in the sting."There are a lot of predators out there, moms and dads," Judd said. "We have got to work together to protect them. Keeping our children safe from sexual predators has to be our top responsibility."Operation Guardian was the third sex sting conducted in Polk County this year.Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
