ORLANDO, Fla. -- Video of former astronaut Lisa Nowak released Friday shows her pacing in a police holding cell before telling an officer that she had no intention of harming her romantic rival Air Force Capt. Colleen Shipman.
Nowak has pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted kidnapping, battery and burglary with assault in connection with the alleged attack in a parking lot at Orlando International Airport in February.
Nowak told police she and Shipman were vying for the affection of former astronaut Bill Oefelein.
Friday, the state attorney's office released of video of Nowak taken before her mug shot was seen around the world.
The video showed Nowak in the cell occasionally asking to make a phone call.
When a police officer finally comes into the cell, she is heard telling him that she had no intention of harming Shipman.
In an interview with detectives, Nowak says she confronted Shipman because she wanted to know "where she stands" in the bizarre love triangle.
Nowak, 44, allegedly attacked Shipman with pepper spray and tried to jump into her vehicle. Police say Nowak was carrying a duffel bag with a steel mallet, 4-inch knife and a BB gun.
Nowak has claimed that she just threw some of the items in a bag on her way out of the door.
Nowak goes on trail next month in Orlando.
Later this month, Nowak will appear in court trying to get her videotaped police interview thrown out of court.
She is also asking a judge to remove her house arrest ankle bracelet, saying the device is costing her too much and preventing her from exercising.
