Police said during questioning the teen and his three passengers, the officer observed a live round of ammunition on the floor of the vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle, a revolver was found in the center console, according to a police report.

The boy told police the gun was not his and he had held it earlier but never shot it.  There was one spent round in the cylinder, and an attempt had been made to file the serial number off of the gun, the report states.

Police say the teen tried to flee while police were investigating but was apprehended before he could.

The boy, who was driving without a license, was charged with possession of a firearm by a minor and resisting an officer without violence. He was booked into the Juvenile Assessment Center.
