FERN PARK, Fla. -- A man was arrested in Seminole County on Saturday, accused by police of exposing himself to six girls at an apartment complex and spitting on a police cruiser window.
John Burkett was charged with lewd and lascivious exhibition in the presence of a person who is less than 16 years of age and exposure of a sexual organ in public in a vulgar or indecent manner. He was transported to the John E. Polk Correctional Facility.
According to authorities, the girls were leaving the clubhouse of the Magnolia Grove apartments on Sharp Court in Fern Park when they saw Burkett standing near some stairs in an open courtyard with his shorts down by his knees.
The girls began yelling at Burkett, who ran up the stairs and sat in a chair on a balcony, authorities said.
Police were called and confronted Burkett, who told them that he has schizophrenia, according to a police report.
Others at the complex said they saw Burkett with his pants down, authorities said.
While en route to the correctional facility, Burkett spat upon the cruiser's rear window, saying he was leaving the officer "stickers," the report stated.
