A Lake Mary woman who said she is the former girlfriend of Orlando Magic player J.J. Redick claimed that she is being threatened by his brother.

Vanessa Lopez said she is afraid for her life because of harassing phone calls and text messages from David Redick.

Local 6 News reported that J.J. Redick and Lopez are involved in a legal dispute, according to investigators, who would not release any other details.

Lopez said David Redick told her, "You will be sought after, and you should be scared."

Lopez called Lake Mary police on Sunday night, and officers said that Lopez received a threat while they were with her.

"The victim has received multiple phone calls, threatening in nature, offensive in nature. Pretty much that's all we know so far," Lake Mary police officer Mike Connely said.

Neither the Orlando Magic nor J.J. Redick would comment on the incident.

J.J. Redick, who was an All-American at Duke, was the Magic's No. 1 draft pick in 2006.
