The Army Corps of Engineers detonated pieces of bombs found on the campus of Odyssey Middle School over the weekend.
Workers found 31 pounds of munitions along with 2,500 pounds of debris in the area so far.
Odyssey Middle School was built on a swath of land near a former World War II bombing range.
Engineers have searched about half of the campus and school officials insist there is no danger.
"We won't allow anyone to do any digging and as long as no one does any digging here on the property, it is perfectly safe," Orange County Public Schools representative Dylan Thomas said.
The Army Corps of Engineers decided to do the work while students were off for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The remaining parts of the property will be searched next month when students are off for winter break.
