Women Arrested In Prostitution Sting
According to a police department press release and jail records, those arrested Nov. 21 on charges of solicitation for prostitution include:Mary Mefford, 51, of Melbourne, who is being held on $500 bond.Maria Aviles, 36, of Palm Bay, a third-time offender being held on $2,000 bond.Andy Brawand, 24, of Melbourne, also a third-time offender being held on $2,000 bond.Anita Hudson, 26, of Melbourne, who was also booked on charges of cocaine possession, trafficking and destruction of evidence. She is being held on $19,500 bond.Jail officials said Karen Maples, 43, of Melbourne, also charged with solicitation, was granted a pre-trial release on the day of her arrest based on her prior history, Local 6 News partner Florida Today reported. She will be arraigned Dec. 31 at the Melbourne courthouse, court records show.The other women also have court appearances scheduled for late next month.Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
