ORLANDO, Fla. -- The city of Orlando canceled all building permits in an area where crews have found unexploded World War II munitions buried underground.
Construction was ordered stopped Thursday on land located near Odyssey Middle School, including in subdivisions built or going up in the area of the Old Pine Castle Jeep Range site.
Workers have found 31 pounds of munitions along with 2,500 pounds of debris in the area so far, according to a recent Local 6 report.
Odyssey Middle School was built on a swath of land near a former World War II bombing range.
