Officers said the woman walked into a Washington Mutual bank located on state Road 434 Saturday afternoon and gave a teller a note stating that she had a bomb.

The note also said that unknown persons were holding her children hostage and she needed the money or the bomb would be detonated.

As the woman was leaving, she left a suspicious bag, which she indicated was a bomb, according to police. Officers later determined that the bag did not contain an explosive.

Witnesses said the woman entered a red Jeep Liberty and fled west on state Road 434.

The woman had a slim build, dirty blond hair and heavy acne scarring on her face.

Witnesses stated that the woman appeared to be upset and had dark circles around her eyes, police said.

Local police agencies have not reported any incidents of kidnapping to corroborate the woman's note.

Anyone with information concerning the crime is urged to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
