Denmark has been named the happiest country in the world, according to a study done by an English university.

The country, filled with 5.5 million people, was named the happiest country despite having so-so weather and a 50 percent tax on wages, Local 6 reported.

Their neighbors, the Norwegians, are richer and the Swedes are healthier, according to a CBS report.

So, why are they happier?

Researchers found that Danish people are apparently the happiest because they have low expectations, so they are rarely disappointed.

A newspaper columnist also said there is very little violence and few murders -- people feel safe and secure.
