1954: Hall of Fame outfielder Andre Dawson, one of eight MLB players with at least 300 home runs and 300 stolen bases during his career, is born in Miami, Fla. Dawson, who played 21 years for the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox and Florida Marlins, was an eight-time All-Star. He was named the National League's Rookie of the Year in 1977 and was named the NL MVP in 1987.
