Student Diagnosed With Bacterial Meningitis

A student in Brevard County has been diagnosed with bacterial meningitis, Local 6 confirmed Monday.

The student with bacterial meningitis is an unidentified female student at Cocoa Beach Junior/Senior High School.

The principal at the school met with teachers Monday and the school faculty will meet with the health department Tuesday.

A meeting concerning the student will also be held Tuesday night.

Symptoms of bacterial meningitis are high fever, headaches and a stiff neck.

After several hours, nausea and confusion develops.
