The $31 gas sign was a mistake and should have read $3.15.

Motorists stopped along side of the road to photograph the sign after spotting it.

Meanwhile, crude oil prices shot up $2 a barrel, closing at $103 a barrel -- which is a record high.

The national average for a gallon of gas is $3.16, according to AAA's Fuel Gauge Report.

The average in Orlando is $3.18 a gallon and in Daytona Beach, the average price has shot up to $3.26 a gallon.
