COCOA BEACH, Fla. -- A 14-year-old Central Florida boy was arrested Monday after he was spotted wearing a make-shift turban made out of a T-shirt while holding a sign saying that he had a bomb on a school bus, officials said.
The boy, a student at Cocoa Beach Junior/Senior High School, has been suspended, school officials said.
According to Gibson Best, who witnessed the incident on Friday, the boy held up a sign while riding on a school bus on A1A in Brevard County.
"The long and short of it was the child said he had a bomb. He had a big, clear note on the back of the glass, saying he was going to blow the bus up," Best said. "This day and age, you see all sorts of crazy things. Does the kid have a bomb or not? I don't know. But am I taking chances? I'm a zero-tolerance daddy. I don't take any chances."
"Parents need to help students to understand that this kind of thing in this day and age cannot be tolerated," Wes Summer said.
