MIMS, Fla. -- A man who led deputies on a chase that topped 85 mph after robbing a Brevard County convenience store and stealing a pickup was arrested on Friday, authorities said.
The incident began at about 12:45 p.m. when a man robbed the Northgate convenience store in Mims and stole a Dodge Dakota pickup, Brevard County sheriff's deputies said.
The man fled north on Interstate 95, and a chase ensued, Local 6 News partner Florida Today reported.
With assistance from the Brevard County Aviation Unit and the Edgewater Police Department, deputies cornered the man when he bailed out of the pickup, jumped a barbed wire fence and ran into a ditch off Maytown Road in Edgewater, authorities said.
