Man Charged With Stealing $55,000 Worth Of Comic Books
Man Kept 35,000 Comic Books In Storage

Douglas Korinke, 49, said that he kept his collection of 35,000 comic books at the Public Storage facility located at 2431 S. Orange Blossom Trail, near Apopka, Fla. Korinke said that an employee of the storage facility contacted him earlier this month and let him know about about the theft, according to a release from the Seminole County Sheriff's Office. Authorities said a tip from comic book store operator helped them apprehend Shannon Bickel Wednesday. Bickel faces charges burglary, larceny and dealing in stolen property. An investigator estimated that 90 percent of the victim's property has been recovered, including a rare edition of the "Spider Man" comic series.
