ORLANDO, Fla. -- Law enforcement authorities have sent warnings to some Florida shopping centers as they search for a South Florida mall killer, according to WJXT.
After two abductions and slayings from a Boca Raton Mall over the past year, city leaders are offering a large reward for a man believed to have a ponytail.
Nancy Bochicchio and her 7-year-old daughter, Joey, were abducted from the Town Center mall in Boca Raton on Dec. 12. Both were later discovered bound and shot to death in their car in the mall parking lot.
Detectives are looking into links between the Bochicchio case and several others, including the slaying of a 52-year-old woman abducted and shot to death after shopping at the same mall one year ago.
Authorities said they believe the same man abducted a woman and a child from the same mall in August, WJXT reported.
Those victims were robbed but unharmed, also left bound inside their vehicle.
The cases were profiled in January on the television show "America's Most Wanted."
A task force has been formed to catch the killer and the city is offering a $350,000 reward. Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Boca Raton police at 561-338-1352.
Law enforcement authorities have sent warnings to other Florida shopping centers, including the St. Johns Town Center.
Police always want shoppers to be aware of their surroundings, but even more now that a criminal who targets mall patrons is on the loose.
