Bandits Use Shoe Laces In Robbery

POSTED: Sunday, April 13, 2008
UPDATED: 5:21 pm EDT April 13, 2008

Several armed men pistol-whipped a clerk and a customer during a robbery of a cell phone store that involved the men using shoe laces they brought to the crime, police said.

Investigators said several men walked into the My Wireless store located at 3400 W. Vine St. in Kissimmee Saturday and asked for phone cards.

The men then went behind the counter and used shoe laces to tie up the clerk, police said.

The man was seen on surveillance begging for his life.

"They brought their own things to tie him up with and it was very well calculated," Kissimmee police representative Stacie Miller said.

The store employee was pistol-whipped by the men, investigators said.

During the crime, police said a customer walked in and was also pistol-whipped.

The men then fled the store.

The culprits are described by the victims as Hispanic males.

Anyone with information concerning the crime is urged to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
