ORLANDO, Fla. -- A fire that sparked in a napkin and paper towel aisle of a Central Florida Winn-Dixie store was apparently sparked by an arsonist, firefighters said Wednesday.
Flames and thick smoke were reported at a Winn-Dixie store located on Curry Ford Road near Bumby in Orange County.
Firefighters arrived and contained the fire.
Fire officials said the store was closed at the time of the fire late Tuesday and only a few employees remained inside of the business. They said the fire was suspicious.
"The area of the fire and the origin of it, there is nothing in that particular area that would cause a fire," Orlando Fire Chief Rob Rivenvark said. "That makes it, in itself, it suspicious."
There was little damage to the structure of the business because of a sprinkler system. However, smoke damage was extensive.
Firefighters had to knock out large glass windows to ventilate the business.
Two employees who were in the store at the time of the fire were being treated for smoke inhalation.
All employees are being questioned by police.
Orlando police investigators are also looking at surveillance video Wednesday in hopes of determining a cause of the fire.
The store was closed Wednesday.
