Boy Showed Marijuana To Classmates, Deputies Say

LONGWOOD, Fla. -- A Seminole County fifth-grader was arrested Friday on suspicion of taking marijuana, a gun and a window punch to school.
The student, who attends Woodlands Elementary School located at 1420 EE Williamson Road in Longwood, was charged with possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana on school property, possession of a firearm on school property and possession of a concealed weapon.
According to Seminole County sheriff's deputies, the student showed the marijuana to some classmates, one of whom told a teacher. The accused student was taken to the principal's office and the drugs were located, along with a .25-caliber Raven Arms handgun and the window punch.
The student was arrested and transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
