ORLANDO, Fla. -- Several wildfires continued to burn in parts of Central Florida Wednesday, including one in Brevard that closed Interstate 95 between the Beachline and state Road 520.
A nearby 320-acre brush fire in Cocoa that forced the evacuation of a Ramada Inn and Super 8 Tuesday night was still burning Wednesday afternoon. It was not threatening any structures.
Also, firefighters were setting fires between Malabar and Mickel Road to help fight a 3,600-acre blaze in the area. It was only 50 percent contained, officials said.
In Palm Bay, the main fire is not considered active, Local 6 reported. However, crews are in the area working to mop up some hot spots.
Florida troopers hoped to open I-95 to traffic by later Wednesday afternoon.
