Date Set For Child Killer's Execution

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida plans to execute child killer Mark Dean Schwab on July 1. Gov. Charlie Crist set the date Monday after the U.S. Supreme Court lifted a stay of execution for Schwab. He had originally been scheduled to die last November but was given a reprieve while justices considered the constitutionality of lethal injection procedures. The court upheld the use of lethal injection in a Kentucky case a month ago. Crist declined to comment extensively on the new death warrant. Schwab faces death for the rape and murder of 11-year-old Junny Rios-Martinez in 1991. Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
