Despite the fact that Central Florida is in a severe drought, a subdivision is threatening to fine homeowners who do not water their lawns enough.

More than 12 homeowners living in Debary's Saxon Woods subdivision are on notice for brown grass around their homes.

Peter Cervone said the homeowner's association at Saxon Woods has given him seven days to turn his brown grass green either by watering or resodding his lawn.

Property mangers told Local 6 that they have warned Cervone three times.

"I don't know how to correct it in seven days," Cervone said. "I'll spray-paint it green if I have to."

Local 6 reported that the president of the homeowner's association has also been warned about his lawn.
