A thief smashed a window of Naomi Rodriguez's Orlando home in broad daylight Wednesday and stole her pets and some other electronics.

"I just want (my pets) back," Rodriguez said.

The woman said she especially misses her African grey parrot because it lived in a cage next to her bed.

"My bird's name is Pepe and he is my buddy," Rodriguez said. "He is bilingual. He talks in Spanish and English. And one of the last things I taught him was how to say I love you."

In hopes of finding the suspect, Rodriguez spray painted, "In God We Trust -- Return My Pets" and a $2,500 reward message on her home.

"That message is going to stay up there until he comes back and I can display a welcome back Pepe message," Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez said she believes the person responsible is someone who lives nearby targeted her animals.

Anyone with information about the crime is urged to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
