Principal Warned Teacher Accused Of Student Sex Not To Be With Boys

POSTED: Friday, June 6, 2008
UPDATED: 4:08 pm EDT June 6, 2008

A Central Florida middle school teacher arrested on charges of having sex with four teenage boys, two of whom were her students, was warned by school officials to never be alone in a classroom with "any male students," Local 6 News reported on Friday.

Danielle Jones, 32, was in court on Friday, a day after the Stambaugh (Auburndale) Middle School sixth-grade science teacher was arrested on suspicion of having sex with two of her students, ages 14 and 15, and their two 16-year-old cousins.

The school principal sent Jones a letter on Jan. 23 -- about six months after the alleged sex took place -- after her flirtatious interaction with boys was noticed, investigators said.

A portion of the principal's letter said, "I insist that you never have casual, non-school related physical or verbal contact with any student on campus whom you do or do not currently teach."

Investigators said that Jones picked up the teens in Winter Haven and took them to her home between June and August of last year.

Detectives are investigating whether Jones had sex with any other former or current students.

Jones is divorced and does not have any children.
