Person Of Interest Sought In Boy's Death

15-Year-Old Shot Dead In Front Of Brother

Kissimmee police are searching for a person of interest in connection with the shooting of a 15-year-old boy who was killed in front of his brother shortly after being dropped off Thursday night by a coach following football practice.

Police said on Friday that they want to talk to Richard Corporan after Mario Small Jr. was shot in the area of McLaren Circle and Springs Pine Court at about 8 p.m. after Small apparently witnessed an armed robbery. Police said Corporan is not suspected in the shooting but may have valuable information about the incident.

Small was with his 13-year-old brother when a light-colored Dodge Magnum stopped, Kissimmee police said. Numerous other children on bikes fled the area when up to four black males exited the car, police said.

Small fled on foot while two of the assailants fired at him, striking him in the back of the head, said Small's father, Mario Small Sr.

Small Jr. was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

"We need to get these guys. (They) just killed an innocent boy," Mario Small Sr. said. "My son wasn't out here in the streets ... always making As and Bs."

Kissimmee police are asking anyone with information about the vehicle or the shooting to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.

Mario Small Sr. told Local 6 News that he is offering a $3,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to the arrest of his son's killer.
