ORLANDO -- A Disney employee was suspended after taking a gun to work, Local 6 reported.
Disney recently announced it was exempt from a new law that says workers can take guns to work as long as they leave them locked in their cars.
Initially, it was reported that Orange County deputies were asked to search Sotomayor's vehicle. However, the Orange County sheriff's office deputies were called to the scene by Disney management personnel to maintain order and to issue a formal trespass warning to Sotomayor at their request. A deputy did not request to search Sotomayor's vehicle.
Sotomayor was suspended over the incident and for not cooperating with the investigation, the report said.
"I feel betrayed," Sotomayor said. "Disney is one of the few all-American companies that we have and this is very un-American."
Once the investigation is completed, Sotomayor could have his suspension lifted.
