Rocket, Projectiles Found On School Property
The Army Corps of Engineers found the 10 projectiles and the rocket on the Odyssey Middle School property -- which is part of the former Pinecastle Army Airfield bombing range site.It is the latest find on the site and the first since school was dismissed last month.Earlier this year, Local 6 showed World War II video once classified as top secret that shows bombs being dropped on Orlando is raising questions about the safety of hundreds of homes built on or near the former range.The bombing range was used extensively from 1943 to 1946, Local 6's Donald Forbes reported.Military maps of the Pinecastle Bombing and Gunnery Range detail the use and locations of weapons used.The munitions recently found will be detonated Thursday between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
