3 Injured In Airboat Crash

2 Taken To Holmes Regional Medical Center

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. -- Three people were injured Monday in an airboat crash at the old Sweetwater Family Resort, Brevard County emergency personnel said.

Two of those injured were taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center, one with severe injuries that classified the patient as a "trauma alert" victim, Orlando Dominguez of the Brevard County Fire-Rescue told Local 6 News partner Florida Today.

The Brevard County Sheriff's Office has not yet said how many boats were involved in the crash at Sweetwater, located on U.S. 192, west of Interstate 95, which used to be an active fish camp on a canal off the St. Johns River.

Police are still investigating the crash and have not released the names of those involved or how the crash occurred.
