Investigators said the only thing preventing them from finding a missing Orlando girl is her mother as a national search continues for the missing child.

Detectives said they are becoming fed up and increasingly frustrated with Casey Anthony, 22.

"When you have a mother that her demeanor and lies and everything is the obstacle that's keeping us from doing that, it is frustrating," Orange County sheriff's Deputy Carlos Padilla said.

While Casey Anthony has been jailed on child neglect charges concerning her missing daughter Caylee, she has spoken with friends and family but not detectives.

Recently, Anthony's brother, Lee, encouraged her to cooperate with law enforcement.

"You don't have to necessarily have to put everything through your attorney," Lee Anthony said in a jailhouse call. "If you feel like you want us to speak to them about anything at all, you can still request that he be there. He doesn't have to and you don't have to do that through him."

"Oh, I know," Casey Anthony said. "He was going to be here with me when we bring them in -- you know. And as far as what I answer, how I answer you, know how all that goes down."

Detectives said Casey Anthony has fed them lies that have not produced her daughter.

"For us, cooperation would have been that she would have the truth from the beginning and that she would have told us where Caylee is," Padilla said. "And, if that would have been the case, we wouldn't be where we are today."

The last time investigators tried to talk with Casey Anthony, they traveled to the jail and met with her attorney, Jose Baez, but never talked to the woman.

They said they were very disappointed they were not able to talk with the woman.

Crime Reported At House

Meanwhile, a crime was reported at the grandparents' home during a crucial period in the investigation.

Caylee's grandfather, George, reported two gas cans containing about $50 worth of gas were stolen from a shed behind the house in June.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said Casey Anthony had a habit of stealing gas from the family but did not say the theft was not necessarily related to the missing child investigation, Local 6's Erick Weber said.

The family's car was later found abandoned and smelling of a decomposing body in the trunk.

Attorney: Released Calls Hurt Investigation

Also, Baez said he wants to block the public from hearing calls the woman makes from jail or from seeing who visits her because it could hurt the search for the child.

Baez said releasing jailhouse calls will compromise his client's case and impede the investigation.

"It will chill the public's willingness to report any leads," Baez said.

Baez has asked the court to put a protective order in the case. It is Baez's attempt to have a shutdown on the release of information including 911 calls and video of visitations, Local 6's Tony Pipitone said.

A hearing will be held Tuesday in Orange County Circuit Court, where a judge will decide whether to grant a motion for a protective order.

Motion Filed To Reduce Bond

Also, there is also a motion to reduce Casey Anthony's $500,000 bond that is now on appeal.

The appellate court wants to know by Wednesday the status of the psychological evaluations that Casey Anthony is undergoing. It could release a ruling on Wednesday, Local 6's Tony Pipitone reported.
