Local Teacher Faces Child Abuse Charges
Woman Allegedly Hit Student With Shoe

COCOA, Fla. -- A kindergarten teacher in Cocoa, Fla., was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly abusing several of her students, according to Local 6 News.
Police said that Ruth Henderson, 69, allegedly grabbed a child's arm causing him to hit his head on a bookcase after he threw crayons in class at Cambridge Elementary School. Henderson is also accused of hitting another student with a shoe as punishment, Local 6 News reported.
Henderson has been on administrative leave since August when the investigation into the allegations began.
She has been charged with one count of child abuse.
