TITUSVILLE, Fla. -- Titusville police arrested a man who was mistakenly released from a Georgia jail where he was awaiting prosecution in connection to a homicide and armed robbery.
Dramoski S. Perkins, 26, who had been living locally on Grannis Avenue in Titusville, is in the Brevard County jail on a warrant from Doughtery County, Ga. There he faces charges of murder, armed robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
About 1 a.m. Saturday, Titusville police officers patrolling on bicycles saw Perkins walking in the middle of the road at Deleon Avenue and Orange Street, Local 6 News partner Florida Today reported.
Perkins stopped for officers, but ran when they found cocaine on him, police said. After a chase, officers arrested Perkins, who initially gave them another name.
When officers contacted Georgia authorities, they found he had been mistakenly released from jail there.
