ORLANDO, Fla. -- A 45-year-old woman who did not show up for work Thursday was found dead in her locked room and her car and live-in boyfriend missing, investigators said.
Detectives said Helen Calahan missed a work shift at a Ponderosa restaurant this week and her roommate and co-workers became suspicious.
Calahan's roommate then broke into her room and found the woman dead in her home, located on Norfield Court in Whisper Lakes off Orange Blossom Trail.
The woman's boyfriend, who was not identified, is a person of interest in the case because he was living in the home and all of his items are missing.
"We would very much like to speak with the boyfriend," Orange County Sgt. Allen Lee said. "We are concerned about his welfare as well because he is unaccounted for and the victim's vehicle is unaccounted for and because we don't know what happened."
Calahan's missing car is a tan or beige Nissan Sentra with Betty Boop decals on it and a Florida tag reading F88-7BW.
