Kim Dean

Florida native Kim Dean joined the Local6 team in September 2002 after making her way around the state as a broadcast journalist.

Kim graduated from the University of Florida then traveled to north Florida to begin her journalism career.

Her first job was as a weekend anchor at WMBB-TV in Panama City, Fla. She then moved south to her hometown, Sarasota, Fla. Kim earned an Associated Press award for "Individual Achievement" at WWSB-TV in Sarasota.

Kim then crossed the state to take her next job as a nightbeat reporter at WPEC-TV in West Palm Beach, Fla. At WPEC-TV, Kim covered everything from hurricanes to stories on Sept. 11 terrorists who lived in South Florida.

After traveling the state, Kim is now excited about getting to know Central Florida as a local6.com nightbeat reporter.

When Kim is not covering news stories, she enjoys dancing. She has danced for most of her life and was on the University of Florida "Dazzler" Dance Team.

Kim also enjoys reading, and visiting with her family and the friends she's made all over the state.
