PALM BAY, Fla. -- Two Central Florida men were seriously injured when a pit bull terrier mauled them in a neighborhood.
Police said the men were attacked on Nixon Circle in Palm Bay late Friday.
The victims were the dog owner's boyfriend and another man, police said. Both were inside a home when they were attacked.
One of the victims had to be transported for emergency surgery to repair a severed tendon and the other had more than 30 puncture wounds on his leg, officials said.
Officers said they shot and killed the dog when it charged them after they arrived to help the injured men.
The attack is being investigated.
