A man and a woman were arrested over the weekend on suspicion that they robbed a Brevard County convenience store with a toy gun, police said.

Michael Fallon, 30, and Natalie McCarthy, 24, face charges of armed robbery in connection with the incident, which took place Saturday around 4:45 p.m. at the Jiffy Food Mart located at 906 NW Elmont St. in Palm Bay.

According to Palm Bay police, Fallon entered the store armed with what appeared to be a real gun and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk complied, and Fallon fled in a vehicle that was driven by McCarthy, police said.

Investigators received information about the incident and located the duo, who confessed to the robbery, according to Palm Bay police.

The gun, which turned out to be a toy, was also recovered, police said.
