TITUSVILLE, Fla. – If anyone is seeking a new pet for the new year, the SPCA Adoption Center in Titusville has you covered.
Eighteen cats and dogs were brought Thursday to the SPCA of Brevard County to be put up for adoption.
When Susan Naylor's team received word that a Tampa Bay shelter was overcrowded, the SPCA went on a road trip Thursday to Manatee County to rescue 11 cats and seven dogs.
"We are a true no-kill shelter. Animals stay with us as long as possible," said Naylor, the public relations coordinator with SPCA of Brevard.
Naylor said the Titusville SPCA location often gets requests to take in more animals from other shelters all over the state. Fortunately, right now the SPCA has the availability.
Now in Titusville, Naylor said once the animals are vetted, they'll be ready for new owners. Workers are confident they'll find forever, loving homes.
"Some of them, probably the minute they hit the adoption floor, will be adopted because they're just really, really sweet," Naylor said.
