MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. -- A man passed a teller a note threatening to shoot if he wasn't given money during a Brevard County bank robbery, deputies said.
The robbery occurred around noon Tuesday at the Riverside Bank located at 50 Goodwin Drive in Merritt Island.
Brevard County sheriff's Deputy Lee Weiner told Local 6 News partner Florida Today that a man walked into the bank, went up to a teller and placed a handwritten note up to the bulletproof glass that read, "Give me the money or I'll start shooting."
Weiner said the man was given an undisclosed amount of cash and then walked out.
The man was described as being in his 40s, heavy-set and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, faded jeans and a yellow cap.
Weiner said the man implied he had a weapon but none was seen.
No one was injured.
