A new high-tech jacket is music to the ears of skiers and snowboards this season, according to a Local 6 News report.
The Amp ski jacket has a built-in sound system that uses the Apple I-Pod in the lining.
Owners are able to download music to the player from their home computer to listen to while on the slopes.
"We've had everyone from Steven Spielberg's agent calling yesterday to try to get a jacket," Burton Snowboards spokeswoman Leigh Ault said. "We sent one (jacket) out to Matt Leblanc about a month ago." Leblanc plays Joey on "Friends."
Ault said that the jacket doesn't use wires and gives owners the opportunity to change the volume while wearing thick gloves. A panel on the jacket's sleeve contains the volume and other controls.
The Amp jacket costs $1,000.
