Man Accused Of Exposing Self At Store

Clerks Say Man Has Flashed Them 3 Times

POSTED: Friday, April 17, 2009
UPDATED: 1:11 pm EDT April 17, 2009

A man who exposed himself to clerks in Polk County when he entered a convenience store with his pants unzipped was arrested Friday, deputies said.

Anthony Hays Roberts, 26, of Polk City, was arrested on three misdemeanor counts of exposure of a sexual organ.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Roberts entered the Circle K located at 205 N. Commonwealth Ave. in Polk City at about 5:15 a.m. Tuesday to purchase a cookie with his pants unzipped. He then went back to his vehicle to get more money, re-entered the store and made his purchase, deputies said.

The entire time Roberts was out of his blue sport utility vehicle, his zipper was down, deputies said. Deputies were forced to censor the man's crotch area in released surveillance photos and video.

According to the store clerks, Roberts exposed himself to them on two occasions in March. A clerk's description of Robert's SUV led deputies to his home, where he was arrested. According to an arrest affidavit, Roberts said his zipper was broken and he was unaware that he was exposing himself.
