PALATKA, Fla. -- Attorneys for the father of a missing 5-year-old north Florida girl issued a news release on Tuesday, saying the family of their client, Ronald Cummings, does not want "any involvement by George and Cindy Anthony in the continuing search for Haleigh Cummings."
The news release, sent by attorneys Greg Kimball and T. Jerry Snider, said "the Anthonys have their own agenda, as witnessed by their recent media tour," apparently referring to a weekend missing-children's event in Lake Mary, where the Anthonys appeared with Crystal Sheffield, Haleigh's mother.
The release said "the facts relating to the death of Caylee Anthony, which resulted in the first-degree murder charges against Casey Anthony, are in no way similar to Haleigh's disappearance."
Casey Anthony, 23, remains jailed in the death of her daughter, Caylee, whose remains were discovered in December. Caylee was 2 years old when she was reported missing in July. Casey Anthony has pleaded not guilty in the case.
Haleigh vanished from her Satsuma home in February and has not been seen since.
