Photos Of Caylee Taken 1 Year Ago

Local 6 News reporter Tony Pipitone continued his look into the last year of the Casey Anthony case, saying photos of her daughter, Caylee, could play a role in her trial.

VIDEO: Photos Of Caylee

Anthony, 23, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Caylee, whose remains were found in December. Caylee was 2 years old when she was reported missing in July.

Two of the last photos ever taken of Caylee were captured on June 2, 2008, at the Sutton Place Apartments, Pipitone reported. The pictures were taken by Anthony's then-boyfriend, Tony Lazzaro, and law enforcement looked into whether the photos showed evidence of possible child abuse.

"She came over the 2nd?" an Orange County sheriff's investigator asked Lazzaro in a released interview.

"Yes," he replied.

"OK. Tell me, was the child with her?" the investigator said.

Caylee Anthony.

"Yes, the child was with her. For what I remember, we went down to the pool, from what I have on the photo on my phone," Lazzaro said.

Pipitone said the photo shows an apparent bruise or scrape under Caylee's right eye.

The blemish came up in July 2008 when Anthony was seeking bond.

Anthony's mother, Cindy Anthony, said at a hearing last year that Caylee bumped into a table and that caused the apparent bruise or scrape. But that incident happened in January 2008, according to police records.

The photos in question were taken a year ago, exactly two weeks before Caylee was last seen alive. She was then reported missing about a month later.
