More Charges Filed Against Hataway

Suspect In Ocasio's Disappearance Faces New Charges In Separate Incident

POSTED: Tuesday, June 30, 2009
UPDATED: 11:11 pm EDT June 30, 2009

A suspect in Tracy Ocasio's disappearance has been charged with false imprisonment, burglary, robbery and battery in relation to a separate incident.

The charges stem from an Aug. 2008 incident in Seminole County where a woman, who came forward after Hataway, 28, was implicated in Ocasio's disappearance, told police Hataway tried to kill her after driving her home following a party.

The Seminole County state attorney's office filed the additional charges on Tuesday. Hataway already faced charges in the incident. The maximum penalty on the charges is life in prison.

Hataway was the last person to see Ocasio, 27, before she disappeared on May 27 and has been named as a suspect.

Ocasio was last seen at the Tap Room bar in metro west. Surveillance footage shows her leaving with Hataway, who said Ocasio drove him home that night and left.

Police executed a search warrant at Hataway's house earlier this month after hearing from several of his friends that he was interested in the "dark arts," including satanism, murderers and cannibalism, police said.

Hataway is being held at the Seminole County Jail on $250,000 bond. He has not been charged in Ocasio's disappearance.

Hataway is scheduled to make his first court appearance on July 28.
